Giorgi Kvirikashvili, who served as Georgia’s Foreign Minister then was names as the Parliamentary Majority’s candidate for the Prime Minister’s post, today released a statement revealing his future plans.
Kvirikashvili said he would now present the Cabinet Members unchanged to the Parliament for confirmation but did not rule out future reshuffle.
He also named his First Deputy Mikheil Janelidze as the country’s new Foreign Minister.
"It’s an honour that the ruling team trusted me and presented me as the candidate for the Prime Minister’s post. It’s a huge responsibility,” Kvirikashvili said.
He then stated he was not making any changes in the Cabinet before it was presented to Parliament.
"In case Parliament confirms the Cabinet, I will be able to learn more about each Ministry and Minister’s work from the post of the Prime Minister; I will be able to know more about their strategies, short term and long term plans, which will help me make a better decision in the future,” Kvirikashvili said.
"I don’t rule out that in the nearest future there will be a reshuffle in the Cabinet.”
