One of the world's most popular television travel stations, Travel Channel, has named Georgia as one of the great destinations to visit in 2016.
The Travel Channel released a list of 11 great destinations for 2016which included Bolivia, Georgia, Cuba, Coastal Cambodia, Myanmar, Uganda, the Philippines, Birmingham AL, Poland, Estonia and Sardinia, Italy.
For all you true travellers out there looking for the coolest passport stamps of 2016, we bring you the 11 Next Great Destinations,” wrote journalist Jenny Adams for the Travel Channel piece.
The article stated Georgia as a Eurasian destination was top of the must-see countries for history buffs and architecture fans.
The capital town of Tbilisi just added a new wine festival and a Summer Olympic festival both in 2015. The Kakheti wine region has vineyard tours and elegant, easy-to-drink reds that you’ll find for a fraction of the price of Italy or France,” wrote Adams.
Kazbegi in the north is the land of towering mountains and you can hike the Caucases in the summer or ski them in the winter.”

Earlier this week American television channel CNN named Georgiaamong the top travel destinations for 2016.
Georgia was also named among the top 50 travel destinations for 2016 by New York-based Travel + Leisure magazine earlier this month.
