President’s Administration has new chairperson

The Administration of the President of Georgia has a new chairperson.
Giorgi Abashishvili, who previously served as President Giorgi Margvelashvili’s Adviser in Economic Issues and Deputy Head of the President’s Administration, was appointed to the position.
The announcement comes following a Presidential decree.
Abashishvili replaced Davit Pataraia in the post after he resigned due to personal reasons, the Administration said.
Pataraia had been in the role since June 19, 2014.
Former head of one of Georgia's leading non-governmental organisations Georgian Young Lawyers Association (GYLA) Kakha Kozhoridze has been appointed as the President’s Adviser in the field of human rights and justice.
Three leading roles within the Presidential Administration have been appointed today.
Maya Melikidze, graduate of Harvard University Business School and the European Management School, and having years of experience in the banking and management sector, was appointed to the post.
Georgia’s Deputy Minister of Defence Anna Dolidze announced from September 2016 girls with Grade 9 school completion certificates will be accepted at Georgia’s Cadet Military Lyceum.
