Georgia is getting ready to host the Foreign Minister of Norway this week.
Borge Brende is expected to arrive in capital Tbilisi on an official visit on September 4.
While in Tbilisi, Brende will meet his Georgian counterpart Giorgi Kvirikashvili before the pair hold a joint press briefing.
The two Ministers will also sign an agreement on simplifying visa procedures between Georgia and Norway. The document will ensure creation of convenient conditions for Georgian citizens wanting to travel to Norway. The agreement is part of the recommendation of the EU-Georgia Association Agreement on the facilitation of issuance of visas.
While in Georgia Brende was also scheduled to meet the country’s President Giorgi Margvelashvili, Prime Minister Irakli Garibashvili and Defence Minister Tinatin Khidasheli. He will also participate in an Ambassadorial event scheduled for September 2-4 in Tbilisi.
Before departing the Norwegian Foreign Minister will travel to the conflict zone and visit the occupation line along the Administrative Boundary Line between Georgia’s Russian-occupied Tskhinvali (South Ossetia) region and the rest of Georgia.
