For the first time in the past 18 years, the Georgian national tennis team have been promoted to the Group II of the prestigious Davis Cup.
Georgia will take its place one rung higher next year in the Davis Cup - the world's largest annual international team competition in sport - after the nation was promoted to the Europe/Africa Zone Group II with a win on the final day of action in San Marino.
The Georgian team met Estonia in the final. After the two wins by the Georgians, Estonia refused to play the third game.
Before that, Georgia defeated Albania, Malta and Iceland.
The Georgian national team included Nikoloz Basilashvili, who recently made the third round at Wimbledon.
