Georgia’s Chief Prosecutor Giorgi Badashvili promises to spare no efforts to put Georgia's ex-president Mikheil Saakashvili on the international wanted list.
In an interview with the Georgian newspaper 'Kviris Palitra' today, Badashvili noted that the cases, on which former Georgian President Saakashvili was accused, would be sent to the Court in the nearest future.
"As you know Mikheil Saakashvili is not cooperating with the investigation and he did not come to the investigative institution, so he was sentenced with the pre-trial detention in absentia. Currently he is on the national wanted list,” he said.
"Georgian Prosecution addressed Interpol to issue a Red Notice on Saakashvili's name. All cases against Saakashvili will be referred to the court.We will do our best [the Interpol] to issue a Red Notice on him,” Badashvili said.
Georgia’s ex-President Saakashvili sentenced in absentia to pre-trial detention by Tbilisi City Court on August 2 after being charged in relation to numerous criminal cases. These are:
