Georgian PM among global elite at world leaders’ forum in Davos

Georgias Prime Minister is rubbing shoulders with world leaders at the 2014 World Economic Forum in Switzerland.

The 44th forum World Economic Forum (WEF) will bring together a few thousand people to the ski resort of Davos, Switzerland, for five days.

The Georgian delegation, led by Prime Minister Irakli Garibashvili, will ponder the world's most difficult problems alongside 2,500 of the world's top leaders and wealth makers.

At the session "Eurasia - the next margin and "South Caucasus and Central Asia: the way to the global economy, Garibashvili will make a speech about the advantages of the energy sector, economic growth potential and challenges of regional integration.

Together with the Prime Minister of Georgia, the session will be attended by the President of the Republic of Kazakhstan Nursultan Nazarbayev and President of the Republic of Azerbaijan Ilham Aliyev. The speech at the sessions will be followed by discussion.

Prime Minister Garibashvili will also participate in "World leaders informal meeting, which will determine the economic priorities for the coming year.

It is expected Garibashvili will lead a private conversation to conduct a tete-a-tete meeting with the highest officials, including President of the Swiss Confederation Didier Burkhalter and President of the Republic of Kazakhstan Nursultan Nazarbayev, as well as Prince of Saudi Arabia Turki Al Faisal.

Garibashvilis agenda noted he would attend a private meeting with the World Economic Forum founder and executive chairman Professor Klaus Shvab.

The annual forum 44th World Economic Forum Annual Meeting should put human values at the center of their discussions, Schwab told the forums opening session today, January 22.

"Values are important because we want to live up to the World Economic Forums commitment to improving the state of the world, Schwab said.

Meetings are also planned with representatives of some of the world's leading companies; LAZARD, TATA SONS LTD, EMAAR PROPERTIES, JUMEIRAH GROUP, BLACKSTONE GROUP, LAFARGE, AGILITY LOGISTICS, AGCO, ROYAL PHIPIPS, and MOLLER MAERSK.

Head of Georgias Investment Agency, Giorgi Pertaia, in charge of attracting investments in the country believed the Davos Economic forum would be the greatest advantage for Georgia to promote its investment climate to the rest of the world.

"[The] Prime Minister will have the opportunity discuss the Georgias investment potential with the world business leaders and I believe that some investors will express interests, Pertaia said.

During his visit, Georgias PM Also the PM will meet leaders from the Heads of the World Bank and the European Bank for Reconstruction and Development.

Meeting with George Soros, the founder and chairman of the Open Society Foundations, was also scheduled.

The annual meeting of the World Economic Forum 2014 in Davos runs from January 22 to 25, 2014.
