Georgia appears to becoming a safer nation as latest figures reveal significant less crime than last year.
The Ministry of Internal Affairs (MIA) published crime statistics for the first six months of the year, and the month of June.
The figures showed fewer crimes had been reported, which could imply less crime had been committed throughout Georgia.
From January to June 2014, 12,881 crimes were registered across the country. Of this number, 7,667 (59.5%) were solved.
The figures showed almost 17 percent less crimes had been reported in the first six months of this year compared to the same time in 2013.
As for June, 2,002 crimes were registered, out of which 977 (48.8%) were solved. When compared to the previous year, the figures showed the crime rate had dropped by 25.1 percent.
