Rescue workers have recovered a second body following the devastating landslide in Georgia's Dariali Gorge.

Experts are currently examining the body to determine the person’s identity. Rescuers believed the body could belong to a Russian citizen.

The body was found alongside the remains of a truck.

This is the second body emergency services have rescued from the Dariali Gorge. Four others remain missing since the May 17 incident.

Rescue teams have been working non-stop at Dariali Gorge to search and recover the remaining missing people and clear the immense debris that plunged down into the valley in the landslide.

To date emergency teams have found one truck and one tractor inside the Dariali Hyro Power Plant tunnel and one tractor and seven cars as a result of cleaning the motorway and land mass.

Several trucks were also found squashed under rubble during search efforts in the past few days.

Rescue workers are continuing to operate 24 hours a day to find the remaining five missing people.

The landslide hit Dariali Gorge in the early hours of May 17. The gorge is located near the Georgia-Russia border in northern Georgia.

It is believed one million cubic meters of land mass flew into Tergi River during the landslide, which blocked roads and the valley floor.
