Spring labour becomes cheaper for Georgian smallholders.
The state planned to spend 90 million GEL to support 800 000 farmers across the country. The project was scheduled to start from February 1.
Agriculture Minister Shalva Pipia said farmers who owned land smaller than 1,25 ha would receive vouchers from the Government. The vouchers can be used to cover tillage expenses.
"Last year, not all the smallholders were involved in the project, Pipia said.
"This year, we have done a lot to identify all the beneficiaries and all of them will get involved in this project.
Smallholders will also receive "Agro-cards that will enable them to purchase agricultural materials. The cards will be multiple use so farmers will be able to use them in future years.
