The Georgian Minister of Internal Affairs, Alexandre Chikaidze met with the residents of villages by the so called occupation line.

Chikaidze discussed the barbed wire fence installation issue by Russian troops with the residents of Dvani, Ditsi, Ergneti and Karaleti villages. The police surveillance across this territory is becoming more effective to provide Georgian citizens security, according to the Minister of Internal Affairs.

The barbed wire fence installation in Georgian villages across the occupation line was discussed by the Working Group on Prevention and Response of Georgia on December 9.

Russian forces continue installation of border signs and barbed wire fences at the de-facto South Ossetia villages of Plavi and Plavismani in the Gori municipality of central Georgia.

At this time, the de-facto border signs and barbed wires are already installed. These obstacles are preventing local inhabitants from cultivating their lands at the rural outskirts. Plavi village residents are unable to move north of the village where the cemetery is located. The Russian Army has installed barbed wire and blocked the way to the cemetery and Georgian Church.
