The Daily Signal: Nation of Georgia Is America’s Proven Ally in Fighting Common Challenges

The Daily Signal has published an article noting Georgia’s partnership with the United States in many global issues including containing Russian expansionism, support to the US efforts in Iraq and Afghanistan and the partnership in combat against the new coronavirus.

The article writes about the US-funded Lugar Lab and mentions it as the key resource in the fight against the new coronavirus “testing hundreds of samples and turning results around in under 24 hours.” 

As in past crises and challenges, Georgia is proving in the current pandemic to be a dependable ally for the United States. Located at the strategic geopolitical crossroads of Europe and Asia, the country stands out as one of the most notable emerging economies in the world,” reads the article.

The Daily Signal notes that Georgian economy moved up in the ranking of the Heritage Foundation from “repressed” to “mostly free”. It notes Georgia’s tremendous progress “in integrating with the West and moving toward a more market-oriented economy.”

The Daily Signal notes that there is an ongoing discussion of a possible free trade agreement between these two countries and efforts to deepen defense ties bilaterally and through NATO.

America’s enduring relationship with Georgia, based on shared values and common interests, is strong and highly beneficial to both countries,” says the article.

The article concludes that Georgia deserves  the US commitment and a stronger alliance.
