Seven Georgian wrestlers are set to compete at the Antalya Judo Grand Slam, scheduled to run between Friday and Sunday in Turkey, the Georgian Judo Federation said on Tuesday.
The tournament will host 620 athletes from 85 countries, including the team of Georgian athletes that includes six competitors in the men’s categories - Lukhum Chkhvimiani, Luka Kapanadze, Avtandil Tchrikishvili, Nika Kharazishvili, Omar Sauri and Levan Matiashvili - as well as Sophio Somkhishvili in the women’s section.
The Georgian national team won four medals and finished first among the teams in last year’s Antalya Grand Slam.
Guram Tushishvili and Giorgi Terashvili became champions at the tournament, while Chkhvimiani and Luka Maisuradze won silver medals.
