Georgia’s Special Investigation Service arrested two individuals for sexual coercion, disclosure of secrecy of private life, and extortion in Georgia’s western region of Adjara, the Service announced on Tuesday.
As a result of investigative and procedural actions conducted, the Service established that the offenders had threatened the victim with disclosing information on his/her private life including nude pictures and intimate and personal correspondence if the latter would not have had sexual relations with them.
According to the state body, one of the offenders forced sexual intercourse with the victim, which he secretly photographed and shared the pictures with other individuals through social media platform, while the second offender extorted money from the victim by threatening to disseminate defamatory information.
The crimes are punishable by imprisonment for a term of four to seven years.
