Georgian police officers have arrested two individuals for aggravated robbery and rape in the central Georgian city of Khashuri, the interior ministry announced on Saturday.
The arrest followed a reported robbery in the nunnery of Khashuri, where detainees physically assaulted the nuns, one of which was taken to hospital due to multiple injuries, the local media reported.
An investigation has been launched under articles on aggravated robbery, committed by more than one person and rape by a group of persons.
The detainees, with previous convictions, face up to 13 years in prison.
