Georgia’s special investigation service has arrested two security police officers for domestic violence and uncovered physical and psychological violence committed by an officer against their family members, the agency announced on Friday.

The agency arrested an officer in Georgia’s western Samtredia municipality for domestic violence and threats made in the presence of a minor, while another employee was arrested for physical abuse of minor members of his family.

The service also said it had uncovered a case of physical and psychological violence committed by a security police officer earlier in September in Georgia’s eastern Gurjaani municipality.

The crimes are punishable by one to six years in prison.
