Special focus was made on the 2022 NATO Summit which is an excellent opportunity to duly assess Georgia's progress,” the government of Georgia press office has stated.
Georgia’s role in Black Sea security and the country’s contribution to international peace and security, as well as Georgia’s involvement in the recent evacuation of civilians from Afghanistan following the capture of Kabul by the Taliban, were also discussed and praised.
Garibashvili and Colomina stated that the Substantial NATO-Georgia Package is the key mechanism of NATO's practical support for Georgia and that its implementation is a ‘top priority’ for the Georgian Dream government.
The importance of joint NATO-Georgia exercises was also discussed.
Colomina, who is on his first official visit to Georgia, has already met with the Georgian president and foreign minister.
He has also visited the occupation line in central Georgia.
