A new ecotourism attraction, a rope adventure park, has opened in Mtirala National Park, in the Adjara region of Georgia.
The park was created with the financial support of the Caucasus Nature Fund. A total of 168,000 GEL (about $62,453.53/ €55,596.13) was spent on it.

The Kolkhetian forests of the Mtirala National Park are soon to be announced among the United Nations Educational, Scientific and Cultural Organization (UNESCO) World Heritage sites.
An adventure rope park will also be created in Georgia’s Algeti National Park, located in Georgia’s Tetritskharo municipality.
A zip line zone will be arranged in Martvili Canyon and in the village of Kinchkha, which is located near the Okatse waterfall, in western Georgia.

Georgia’s protected areas are becoming popular tourist spots, hosting 55,490 in the first quarter of 2018, announces Georgia’s Agency of Protected Areas. This year the number of guests visiting Georgia’s protected areas increased by 39 percent compared to the same quarter of 2017, statistics show.
The Georgian forests are soon to be announced among the United Nations Educational, Scientific and Cultural Organization (UNESCO) World Heritage sites. This means that the sites that have huge local importance for Georgians, will receive even more special cultural or physical significance worldwide.
The Caucasus Nature Fund will allocate €870,000 for the development of three national parks in Georgia: Borjom-Kharagauli, Mtirala and Pshav-Khevsureti.
A new recreational park has opened in Ozurgeti, in the Guria region. The park has been made out of recovered marshlands.
The number of visitors to Georgia’s protected areas increased in January-April 2019 and reached 113,251 people, exceeding data from the same period last year by 13%.
A large park in the Tbilisi suburb of Digomi will be fully modernized as a large recreational zone. The park will cover almost 15 hectares, and a plan for the project has already been developed by Tbilisi City Hall.
Two young Georgian citizens who were reportedly lost in Sataplia protected area in western Georgia have been saved. The Emergency Management Service of the Georgian Interior Ministry received information that the Georgian citizens, both 17, got lost and needed help.
