Georgian freestyle wrestlers earn two medals at Minsk European Games

Georgian freestyle wrestlers have earned two medals at the Minsk European Games yesterday.

2016 Olympic champion Vladimer Khinchegashvili (65 kg) took silver, defeating Russian wrestler Akhmed Chakaev but in the final he lost to Azerbaijani athlete Haji Aliyev with a score of 10:2.

Freestyle wrestler Elizbar Odikadze (97 kg) took a bronze medal, having defeated Muraz Mchedlidze, a Georgian athlete competing on behalf of Ukraine.

The Georgian team has accumulated 24 medals so far: six gold, seven silver and 11 bronze.

The Georgian team is ranked 5th at Minsk European Games.

The championship began on June 21 and will continue until June 30.
