Georgian Health Ministry denies death of one injured during Tbilisi protests

The Georgian Ministry of Health has denied death of one person who got injured on June 20 when Georgian police dispersed protest rally in central Tbilisi.
Russian media outlets, namely Euronews Russia, Lenta.ru, REN.TV and others have reported that one of the protestors, injured in eye, died in a hospital.
Head of the Georgian Emergency Service Avtandil Talakvadze has also denied the reports and stated that 54 people still remain hospitalised, two of them are in intensive care department.
We permanently observe the health of each of the injured,” Talakvadze has added.
240 people were injured during Tbilisi protest rally including 80 law enforcers.
The protest rally was triggered by the presence of Russian MPs in the Georgian parliament on June 20.
It was dispersed after protestors decided to break into the parliament building.
The Government of Georgia will be utmost principled and protect the country’s sovereignty as well as the economic welfare of its citizens, Irakli Chikovani, Strategic Communication Advisor to the Prime Minister stated. Chikovani made the statement on behalf of the government amid the official Russian reaction to developments in Tbilisi to boycott tourism and trade goods with Georgia.
Russian officials on Friday called for boycott of tourism and trade relations with Georgia following what President Putin's administration called a "Russophobic provocation" in Tbilisi clashes the previous day.
The official Kremlin response decried the events as a "dangerous display", while the State Duma's Tourism Committee head called for boycott of Georgian tourist resorts and trade goods, among reactions.

Over 12,000 Russian citizens have signed an online petition calling on Russian President Vladimir Putin to cancel his recent ban on flights between Russia and Georgia. "Allow flights between Georgia and Russia, as Russian citizens in Georgia are in safety. As for the protest rallies – this is the right of the Georgian citizens”, the text of the petition reads.
