Georgia received $137.1 million from abroad in April 2019, which is 10.1% more than the amount in April 2018, says the National Bank of Georgia.
Russia ($34.35 million), Italy ($18.44 million) and Greece ($16.34 million) were the largest remittance senders in April 2019.
Overall, the vast majority (93.7%) of all money transfers from abroad came from 17 countries.
After Russia, Italy and, Greece other countries regularly sending money transfers to Georgia in April 2019 included:
- United States – $14.68 million
- Israel – $13.33 million
- Turkey – $7.76 million
- Spain – $4.01 million
- Germany – $3.76 million
- Ukraine – $2.95 million
- Poland – $2.53 million
- France – $2.11 million
- Azerbaijan – $1.75 million
- United Kingdom – $1.43 million
- Kyrgyzstan – $1.39 million
- Kazakhstan – $1.38 million
- Cyprus – $1.18 million
- Canada – $1.13 million
In April 2019, remittances leaving Georgia totalled $19.1 million, as compared to $18.5 million in April 2018.
Georgia received $125.5 million from abroad in February 2018, while remittances leaving Georgia totalled $17.7 million, says the National Bank of Georgia.

Georgia received $145.8 million from abroad in May 2019, which is 11.8% more than the amount in May 2018, says the National Bank of Georgia.
Georgia received $143.6 million from abroad in June 2019, which is 6.3% more than the amount in June 2018, says the National Bank of Georgia.
Georgia received $154.5 million from abroad in July 2019, which is 7% more than the amount in July 2018, says the National Bank of Georgia.
The amount of money transfers entering Georgia in August 2019 was $146.4 million, which is a 7.8 per cent increase compared to August 2018.
