Georgia’s wheelchair fencers emerged from last weekend’s World Cup in Montreal, Canada with seven medals and second spot for the country at the tournament.
The three-day event saw Irma Khetsuriani, Nina Tibilashvili and Gvantsa Zadishvili claim a notable haul of medals for their ongoing competition season.
Khetsuriani was first in the sabre discipline on Sunday, before Tibilashvili was awarded silver the same day.

The two leading athletes of the Georgian team, medal-winners from World Cup events earlier this year, also scored other medal-winning results before the concluding day of the tournament.
Their two bronze medals in foil category came on Saturday and followed a team round where the three female fencers from Georgia took second place for the country behind Hungary.

The Georgian team defeated Thailand with a score 45:28 to finish in the silver medal-scoring position.
Running between April 27-29, the Montreal competition involved dozens of athletes in men’s and women’s sections compete for honours.
