Georgian para skier Temur Dadiani was named among the top competitors at the World Para Nordic Skiing World Cup that came to an end in Sapporo, Japan on Sunday.

Dadiani was 10th in the 5km category, earning a place among the top performing competitors of the event, Georgian Paralympic Committee said.

The athlete, ranked 40th in the World Para Nordic Skiing Rankings for the Men’s Sitting section before the Japanese competition, was coached for the World Cup contest by three professionals.

Zaza Iashvili, Tamaz Mosashvili and Nikoloz Iashvili were credited with bringing the skier into form for the International Paralympic Committee-sanctioned race.

It was the final World Cup of the ongoing season and followed the World Championships in February.

Dadiani was the flag-bearer for Georgia at last year’s PyeongChang Paralympic Games, after the cross-country skier was selected for the honour.

The World Para Nordic Skiing World Cup ran in Sapporo between March 12-17.
