Georgian judokas claim four medals, gold at Judo European Cup

Georgian athletes locked out the podium in 81kg category at the European Juniors Judo Cup in St. Petersburg, Russia, as the team claimed four medals in total at the tournament.

Luka Maisuradze, silver medal-winner from last year's European Cup, was crowned the champion in the weight category, with Vladimer Akhalkatsi and Lasha Bekauri finishing behind.

Another medal was added to the team collection by Mikheil Bekauri, who took a bronze in the 90kg section by defeating Imeda Gogoladze, another competitor from Georgia.

The combined total saw Georgia, represented by nine judokas, finish fourth among 17 national teams at the championship.

Hosted in the northern Russian city, the competition featured 170 athletes from across Europe between April 14-15.
