January 2018: Georgia earns $11.4m by exporting 5.12m bottles of wine

Georgia exported 5.12 million bottles of wine to 24 countries in January 2018, announces the Georgian National Wine Agency.
Last month Georgia generated about $11.4 million from the sale of wine abroad.
Revenue increased by 31 percent from January 2017, while the volume of exports increased by 18 percent, said the Georgian National Wine Agency.
Export growth was notable in the following countries:
- Kazakhstan – 108 percent increase (220,776 bottles)
- Hong Kong – 100 percent increase (15,486 bottles)
- Japan – 95 percent increase (26,892 bottles)
- Latvia – 90 percent increase (116, 226 bottles)
- Ukraine – 55 percent increase (624,030 bottles)
The top five countries that imported the most bottles of Georgia wine in January 2018 were:
- Russia – 3,534,780 bottles
- Ukraine – 624,030 bottles
- China – 250,238 bottles
- Kazakhstan – 220,776 bottles
- Poland – 177,018 bottles
Last year about 70 companies exported their wines abroad, said the Georgian National Wine Agency.
Meanwhile, Georgia exported 1.06 million bottles of Georgian brandy and 8,200 bottles of Chacha abroad in January 2018.
Georgia exported 76.7 million bottles of wine to 53 countries in 2017 – a record number of wine in the past 30 years, announces the Georgian National Wine Agency.
Georgia exported 70.2 million bottles of wine to 52 countries from January to November 2017, adding $154.8 million to the economy.
Georgia has exported about 61 million bottles of wine between January-October 2017, which is 59 percent more in comparison with the same period last year, official figures read.
Georgia exported 52.7 million bottles of wine to 45 countries from January to September 2017, adding $116 million to the economy. Revenue increased by 55 percent from the same period in 2016, while the volume of exports increased by 63 percent, said the Georgian National Wine Agency.
Georgia exported 10.8 million bottles of wine to 38 countries in January-February 2018, announces the Georgian National Wine Agency. During the first two months of 2018 Georgia generated about $24.3 million from the sale of wine abroad.
Georgia exported 17.7 million bottles of wine to 43 countries in the first quarter of 2018, announces the Georgian National Wine Agency. In January-March 2018 Georgia generated about $40.47 million from the sale of wine abroad.
Georgia exported 25 million bottles of wine to 43 countries in the first four months of 2018, announces the Georgian National Wine Agency. In January-April of 2018 Georgia generated about $59.2 million from the sale of wine abroad. In the reporting period 147 companies exported their wines abroad.
Georgia exported 31.5 million bottles of wine to 46 countries in the first five months of 2018, announces the Georgian National Wine Agency.
Georgia exported 38.2 million bottles of wine to 48 countries in the first six months of 2018, announces the Georgian National Wine Agency.
Head of Georgia’s National Wine Agency Giorgi Samanishvili, Degustation Commission Head Ana Godabrelidze and Marketing Department Director Irakli Cholobargia attended the Berliner Wein Trophy 2018 as jury members.
