Presidential elections 2018: results of three exit polls released

The Georgian Dream ruling party, the European Georgia opposition party and Rustavi 2 private broadcaster have released the results of exit polls they have conducted.

The exit poll results were announced as soon as all polling stations in Georgia were closed at 8 pm.

The Georgian Dream ruling party has released the results of exit polls conducted by Tbilisi-based Psychoproject research company.

The results are as follows.

  1. Salome Zurabishvili, an independent candidate supported by the Georgian Dream ruling party - 52.3 percent.
  2. Grigol Vashadze: the joint candidate for 10 opposition parties - 28.1 percent.
  3. David Bakradze, candidate for European Georgia - 9.2 per cent.
  4. Zurab Japaridze, Girchi opposition party presidential candidate- 4.4 per cent.

Results of exit polls conducted on the order of Rustavi 2 by US-based Edison Research (the results for valid as of 4 pm, final results will be released soon, the channel says):

  1. Grigol Vashadze - 40 per cent.
  2. Salome Zurabishvili - 40 per cent.
  3. David Bakradze - 10 per cent.
  4. Shalva Natelashvili [the Labour party] - three per cent.
  5. David Usupashvili [Movement for Building]- two per cent.

Exit poll results conducted by BCG Research on the order of the European Georgia opposition:

  1. Grigol Vashadze - 37 per cent.
  2. Salome Zurabishvili - 34 per cent.
  3. David Bakradze - 17 per cent.
  4. Shalva Natelashvili - five per cent.

These results are not official as only the Georgian Central Election Commission is authorised to count votes and then announce preliminary and final results.
