Chairman of the Political Council of the Georgian Dream ruling party Bidzina Ivanishvili says that the United National Movement opposition will try to stir election-related confrontations.
However, all state bodies are alert and I think that their efforts will be useless,” Ivanishvili said.
Ivanishvili responded to the results of exit polls and stated that the Georgian Dream-supported presidential candidate Salome Zurabishvili is close to victory.
I have stated that Zurabishvili would receive 53-54 percent of the vote and the results of exit polls nearly match my expectations. However, it is better to wait for the official results of the Central Election Commission of Georgia,” Ivanishvili said.
The results of exit polls conducted on the order of the ruling party say Zurabishvili will win the race in the first round.
Two other exit polls by Rustavi 2 and the European Georgia opposition party predict a run-off.
