The President of Georgia Giorgi Margvelashvili sent an official congratulatory letter to the President of Switzerland Alain Berset, in which Margvelashvili emphasised that Georgia pays high importance to the development of friendly and mutually beneficial relations with Switzerland "as our strong partner”.

I remain confident that the historical ties and long lasting friendship between Georgia and the Swiss Confederation will be further enhanced and become ever stronger for the mutual benefit of our two nations.
Taking this opportunity, I would like to extend my gratitude for the Swiss Confederation’s steadfast support of Georgia’s sovereignty and territorial integrity and express my appreciation for its strong efforts as a mediating country between Georgia and the Russian Federation.
Your Excellency, please accept the assurances of my highest consideration along with my best wishes for peace and prosperity to the friendly Swiss people,” the official congratulatory letter reads.

Meanwhile, Georgian Minister of Foreign Affairs Davit Zalkaliani participated in an event held in Georgia that was dedicated to Swiss National Day.
