Police detain 7 drug dealers

The Georgian Ministry of Internal Affairs has announced that they detained seven drug dealers yesterday in Tbilisi, Ponichala district and in the village of Karajala, in eastern Georgia.

The ministry reported that 18 packages of heroin have been seized, as well as buprenorphine and subutex pills in large quantities.

Police also seized weapons and money from the accommodations of the detainees- 10,010 GEL, 26,000 USD and 65,000 Russian rubles.

The ministry did not identify the detainees who have been charged for the possession and the sale of drugs in especially large quantities.

The detainees face 8-20 years in prison or a life sentence.
