Georgia joins World Snow Day celebrations today

Snowboarders, skiers and winter enthusiasts across Georgia and from foreign countries are invited to celebrate World Snow Day in Georgia’s winter resorts of Gudauri, Bakuriani, Svaneti and Goderdzi today.

Georgia is among 46 countries around the world marking World Snow Day aimed at bringing snow sports to the people.

Gian Franco Kasper President of the International Ski Federation said the nationwide actions are significant.

Not only do they impact a lot of people but they show a whole country can enjoy snow… It is humbling to see so many various stakeholders from so many nations come together to achieve one goal, to let children explore, enjoy and experience the snow”, he said.

The winter season in Georgia has officially opened in all Georgian resorts:

  • On December 10 in Gudauri and Goderdzi;
  • On December 12 in Didveli;
  • On December 17 in Hatsvali-Tetnuldi;
  • On December 23 in Kokhta-Mitarbi areas of Bakuriani.

 All ski resorts of Georgia are welcoming guests with new infrastructure and the process of infrastructural development will continue further.
