The beauty and untouched wilderness of Georgia’s highest alpine resort Bakhmaro has become the subject of a hot new viral video released online.

Lost in a Skiers Dream is the newest production by WhiteHearts – a Germany-based community of winter sport enthusiasts.

The group of freeride skiers recently visited the winter resort in western Georgia’s Guria region, spending a month exploring the mountainous location perched 2,000 metres above sea level.

Their subsequent video tribute to the spot features drone- and on-the-ground footage of local village huts, snow-covered woods and skiers navigating the pristine slopes of the local mountains.

In times like these, in which man dominates nature so heavily, untouchedness, wilderness and loneliness are more and more rare ... But they still exist - the magical places. Winter landscapes of such extraordinary beauty and seclusion, which seemed to be lost.”
A place with this extraordinary charm is the village of Bakhmaro in Georgia. Well hidden at 2,000 meters altitude in the small Caucasus. A village, which due to its inaccessibility rests every year in the deepest winter sleep”, said the review of the group’s experiences in the location.

The resort features local climate known for its beneficial effects on health. Screenshot from video.

Surrounded by fir and pine tree forests, Bakhmaro features a unique mix of air from the Black Sea and local mountains, deemed to be beneficial for people with respiratory problems.

The town has been the subject of expert review for revealing its potential as Georgia’s next big winter resort.
