The Golden State Warriors have made a documentary about their centre, Georgia's first NBA champion Zaza Pachulia traveling with his championship trophy back to his home country this summer.
The Warriors’ Facebook page posted the video on Monday and it has been seen over 283,000 times since then.
The video features scenes of how the basketball star was welcomed home and was awarded the Order of Honour, one of the major state prizes of the country, for his achievements in developing the sport in Georgia and representing the country abroad.
The documentary also tells the player’s story since his early childhood and describes how he became Georgia’s most successful sportsman and the country’s very first NBA champion.
"Always gonna remember my beautiful country, always gonna support them and never gonna forget from where I’ve started and where I’m from”, Pachulia says in the video.
After winning NBA championship as a member of the Golden State Warriors of the US this summer, Pachulia said that he dedicated his win to his home country.
His achievement was celebrated by Georgian citizens and officials.
