Georgia will have new ambassadors to Germany, UN Office in Geneva

Prime Minister Giorgi Kvirikashvili has already signed a decree to introduce the candidates to President Giorgi Margvelashvili.

The Georgian Foreign Ministry has introduced two new diplomats to represent the country in Germany and the United Nations Office and other international organisations in Geneva.

Prime Minister Giorgi Kvirikashvili has already signed a decree to introduce the candidates to President Giorgi Margvelashvili for his final approval for their appointment.

Margvelashvili will meet the ambassadorial candidates today.

Georgia’s Permanent Representative to the UN Office and other international organisations in Geneva will be Victor Dolidze, a career diplomat who has served as Georgia’s State Minister for European and Euro-Atlantic Integration from 2016 to the present.

Dolidze became a member of Georgia’s eighth parliament in 2012. He chaired the committee of European integration.

Prior to his political career in 2005-2009, he was Georgia’s Ambassador to Austria and Hungary and Georgia’s Permanent Representative to OSCE and other international organisations in Vienna.

Georgia’s new Ambassador to Germany will be Elguja Khokrishvili.

In 2014-2015, he served as Georgia’s Minister of Regional Development and Infrastructure, and then Minister of Environment and Natural Resources Protection.

Currently, Khokrishvili is a senior adviser at the Georgian Embassy in Germany. He has a rich experience of academic activities in Germany.
