Georgia's north-western highland Svaneti region is hosting a festival Giz-Gizi, organised by the country’s National Tourism Administration, over the weekend, the GNTA said on Saturday.

The two-day festival, held in the town of Mestia, includes a food zone and photo booth, with an entrepreneurial market arranged, allowing local entrepreneurs to present their products to vacationers.

The festival with various entertainment activities and performances of Georgian DJs is free to attend, the GNTA noted.

Giz-Gizi is held at winter ski resorts during international championships aimed at facilitating the popularisation of Georgian mountain resorts to attract tourists, the Tourism Administration said, adding this year the festival was being held as part of the Freeride World Tour 2025, a series of sporting events for freeskiers and snowboard freeriders, in Svaneti.
