Maka Botchorishvili, the Georgian Foreign Minister, on Monday met with Hassan bin Ahmed Al-Mutawa, the Ambassador of Qatar to the country, to discuss the agenda of relations between the two countries.

The meeting discussed “positive dynamics” of economic ties and possibilities for deepening them, with the parties noting the importance of strengthening cooperation between Georgia and Gulf countries in both bilateral and multilateral formats, the Georgian foreign office said.

The office added the discussions also covered the development of Georgia's tourism sector, with Qatar seen as an “attractive market” for the purpose.
