Shalva Gogoladze, the Georgian Sports Minister, on Tuesday congratulated the country’s national shooting team on their successes at the ISSF Grand Prix that concluded in Slovenia earlier this month, the Ministry said.
In messages to the team, Gogoladze also discussed the development of shooting sports in the country, along with planned projects.
During the tournament, which ran between January 7-12 in the northeastern town of Ruše, the team earned two gold, two silver and three bronze medals and also secured the first place.
Mariam Prodiashvili claimed gold by collecting 235.4 points in the individual competition in the 10 metre air pistol section, while Giorgi Mumladze earned a silver medal with 236.5 points and Mariam Abramishvili won a bronze with 210.9 points.
Among the senior category, Prodiashvili earned 237.4 points and won the other silver, while Mariam Marshava collected 213.1 points and claimed another bronze.
Among mixed junior teams, Prodiashvili and Mumladze defeated the Moldovan team with a score of 17:13 and won the second gold in the 10 metre air pistol section.
In the mixed senior team category, Marshava and Levan Kadagidze defeated their Azerbaijani counterparts with a score of 16:10 and earned the third bronze and the third place.
Following the tournament, the Georgian athletes also participated in H&N Cup international air gun shooting competition in Germany, with the event running from January 21-26. Prodiashvili claimed a silver medal in the 10 metre air pistol section at the contest.
