Exports of Georgian apples amounted to 9,100 tonnes between August and mid-January, totaling $5.8 million, the country’s Ministry of Agriculture announced on Monday.

The Ministry said the volume of exported apples had increased by 7,600 tonnes, while the value grew by $4.8 million - a six-fold increase compared to the same period of last year.

The body added Russia had been the largest importer of the product with 9,026 tonnes, followed by Kazakhstan with 60 tonnes, Turkey at 21 tonnes, and Armenia with two tonnes.
