Georgian Prime Minister Irakli Kobakhidze on Tuesday said he was “deeply saddened by the devastating fire” at the Kartalkaya ski resort hotel in north-west Turkey, killing at least 66 people and injuring 51 earlier today.
Kobakhidze extended his “full support” to Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan over the fire accident.
“Our heartfelt condolences go to the victims’ families, and we stand in solidarity with the people of Turkey”, the PM added.
According to media reports, the fire broke out at around 3.30 am on the restaurant floor of the 12-storey Grand Kartal Hotel at the Kartalkaya ski resort in Bolu province during a busy holiday period, when 234 guests were staying there.
