Georgia's Prosecutor General briefs PACE officials on “illegal actions” by protesters in recent Tbilisi rallies

Giorgi Gabitashvili, the Prosecutor General of Georgia, on Thursday briefed a delegation of the Parliamentary Assembly of the Council of Europe on “illegal actions” by  participants of rallies in capital Tbilisi against the Government's decision late last year not to include the European Union accession talks on its agenda until 2028.

Gabitashvili also notified the members of the PACE Monitoring Committee of  measures implemented by the Prosecutor’s Office in response to the actions, the Prosecutor's Office said.

Additionally, the parties in the meeting expressed readiness for further cooperation and  exchange of information.

Along with Gabitashvili and PACE representatives, the meeting was attended by Giorgi Badashvili, the Deputy Prosecutor General, Amiran Guluashvili, the Head of the Investigation Process Management Department at the Special Investigation Service, and Irakli Chilingarashvili, the Head of the International Relations and Legal Department at the Prosecutor’s Office.
