The Georgian Foreign Ministry on Thursday expressed “deep shock” and condemnation following a deadly attack in New Orleans in the United States that claimed the lives of at least 15 people.

We strongly condemn all acts of violence and stand in solidarity with the victims, their families, and the people of the United States during this difficult time”, the Ministry said.

The tragedy unfolded early on Wednesday morning on Bourbon Street, during New Year’s Eve celebrations, when a driver rammed a pickup truck into a crowd.

Dozens were also injured in the incident, CNN reported on Thursday, adding law enforcement were investigating the attack as an “act of terrorism”.
