The Georgian National Tourism Administration on Monday said “leading” European media outlets would feature the country’s winter resorts and adventure tourism.

The Administration said it was hosting a press tour for Le Figaro, The Telegraph, GQ, Die Presse, Snow, Backcountry Magazine and Downdays.

The body said journalists from Austria, France and the United Kingdom had visited the Georgian capital city of Tbilisi, the western city of Kutaisi, the Prometheus Cave visitor destination near the latter and the north-western highland town of Mestia as part of the tour.

This is my first time in Georgia, and I am absolutely amazed by the breathtaking views that surround us. The people here are incredibly friendly, the snow is of the best quality, and the cable car is fast, which made my experience in Svaneti absolutely amazing”,  Le Figaro journalist Matthew Ross said in his impressions.

He added he was working on an article entitled Easy Adventure, adding “everything you need is available here, even in small shops. The locals are always willing to help you out. Georgia truly is the future”.

Die Presse reporter Joseph Ibner shared his experience of following a group of freeriders and getting some “amazing” impressions.

Svaneti has very friendly people, and the mountain resort is developing with some truly outstanding skiing conditions. I believe Svaneti has the potential to become a popular tourist destination”, he said.

Photographer Dom Daher said the tour marked his second visit to Georgia. He said he had been taking photos of the 2024 Freeride World Tour competition in Mestia and the mountains of the locality, and found the “cultural aspect” of the trip “very interesting”.
