Parliament’s Human Rights Committee Chair, UN Human Rights Office representatives discuss cooperation

Mikheil Sarjveladze, the Chair of the Georgian Parliament's Human Rights Committee, on Sunday discussed existing and future cooperation with Vladimir Shkolnikov, the Senior Advisor of the United Nations High Commissioner for Human Rights in Georgia and Besarion Bokhashvili, the Human Rights Officer at OHCHR.

At the meeting, the sides reviewed the joint projects and expressed mutual readiness to continue and develop the existing relations between Georgia and OHCHR, the Parliament press office said.

Sarjveladze briefed the officials on the priorities and planned activities of the Parliamentary Committee on Human Rights, and extended gratitude for their assistance in the process of developing the human rights action plan.

In their turn, the OHCHR representatives presented proposals for future activities, where the Committee would be “actively involved”.
