Occupation forces illegally detain Georgian citizen in central Georgia

Russian occupation forces have illegally detained a Georgian citizen near central Georgia’s Russian-occupied village of Takhtisdziri in the Kareli municipality, the State Security Service of Georgia said on Wednesday.

The SSS noted it had activated “all existing mechanisms” for the release of the illegally detained citizen, including the hotline operated for information exchange on developments along the occupation line.

The state body also said it had immediately informed the European Union monitoring mission and co-chairs of the Geneva international discussions about the incident.
