Georgian Parliament Speaker Shalva Papuashvili on Wednesday said the Government’s goal was to transform the “long-term strategic partnership” with the United States into “concrete economic and people-to-people” relations in areas including visa-free travel, direct flights and investments.
There is every readiness to support direct flights for both American and Georgian airlines. However, for visa-free travel, direct flights and investment incentives, reciprocal steps from America are necessary”, he said.
Papuashvili also praised the “34-year-long support” by the US for Georgia and said his country was “grateful to the American people for standing by the country during difficult times”.
