Georgian Parliament Speaker Shalva Papuashvili on Thursday alleged “radicalism, not polarisation” was the problem of domestic politics in the country.

Papuashvili said domestic “radical” groups were “trying to come into power through non-democratic ways”.

[The problem is] not polarisation, but the fact that there are radical groups that do not recognise the legitimacy of the Government, and the parties with an approval rating of two percent that are trying to come into power in an undemocratic way”, he claimed.

The chief Georgian legislator further described the situation as “the movie we have already seen many times”.

He also claimed the public would “give an appropriate response to these efforts” during the parliamentary elections scheduled for October.
