The Parliament of Georgia on Wednesday announced its Budget Office would become an observer member of the European Union Independent Fiscal Institutions Network.

The body cited Richard van Zwol, the Chair of the organisation, as saying the Office was in “full compliance” with activities carried out by member countries of the Network.

We have made a decision to accept the Budget Office of the Parliament of Georgia as an observer in the organisation. I think this step will be a great opportunity for the Budget Office [...] in terms of development and strengthening”, he said.

Andria Gvidiani, the Head of the Budget Office, said observer membership of the organisation would give the Office an opportunity to “strengthen and share best experiences”.
