Vakhtang Tsintsadze, the Deputy Economy Minister of Georgia, on Thursday said the country’s external trade turnover had hit “record levels” between January and November, reaching $21 billion, while exports showed a 7.9 percent growth, totalling $6 billion.
In November alone, exports saw a substantial increase, exceeding $542.5 million, which marks a 12.6 percent rise compared to the same month last year. In November, as in previous months, there was an increase in domestic exports. Looking at the foreign trade data for the past 11 months, it is clear that export growth has been significant, and the volume reached a record high”, he said.
Tsintsadze highlighted the Government’s commitment to enhancing export capabilities through state programmes aimed at improving competitiveness for small and medium-sized enterprises.
The Deputy Minister also acknowledged the importance of these initiatives in fostering the production of locally made goods that could “compete in the European Union [market] and beyond”.
