Georgia's external trade turnover amounted to $21.11 billion between January-November, posting a 6.6 percent year-on-year increase, with the list of top trading partners of the county topped by Turkey with $2.93 billion, Russia with $2.26 billion and the United States with $1.96 billion, the National Statistics office said on Thursday.
The value of exports increased by 7.9 percent and equalled $6.01 billion, while imports also increased by 6.1 percent, amounting to $15.10 billion in the reporting period.
The list of exports was headed by Kyrgyzstan ($1.16bln), Kazakhstan ($795.4mln) and Azerbaijan ($664.4mln), while imports were topped by Turkey ($2.50bln), the US ($1.82bln) and Russia ($1.63bln).
Motor vehicles dominated the list of top export items, reaching a value of $2.21 billion and accounting for 36.9 percent of the total exports. Following closely behind were ferro-alloys with a total export value of $316.5 million, constituting 5.3 percent of the overall exports. Spirituous beverages secured the third position, with exports totalling $270.4 million and making up 4.5 percent of the total number.
In the meantime, the primary import commodities were motor vehicles, with imports totalling $3.08 billion and accounting for 20.4 percent of the total imports. Petroleum and petroleum oils took second place with $1.18 billion, representing 7.8 percent of imports, followed by medical drugs packaged in doses, the import of which amounted to $562.7 million - equivalent to 3.7 percent of total imports.
In another figure of domestic exports, the body said the country exported locally produced goods worth $6.01 billion in the reporting period, marking a 7.9 percent year-on-year increase.
The Office said the share of domestic exports in total exports constituted 43.1 percent and amounted to $2.58 billion - 2.1 percent higher than the same period of 2023.
