Georgian Reconciliation Minister candidate says “peace, development only options” for overcoming challenges

Tea Akhvlediani, the candidate for the position of the Georgian State Minister for Reconciliation and Civil Equality, on Tuesday said “peace and development” were “equally important” for both Abkhazian and Ossetian communities of the domestic public, and named the objectives as “common interests and the only way to overcome existing challenges”.

In her remarks at a joint meeting of parliamentary committees, Akhvlediani highlighted the Georgian Government remained committed to peaceful resolution of the outcomes of the 1992-1993 armed conflict in the country’s Russian-occupied Abkhazia region.
