Georgian Prime Minister Irakli Kobakhidze on Wednesday said peaceful restoration of the country’s territorial integrity represented “one of the most important national tasks” for the Government.
In his comments to the media, Kobakhidze emphasised the significance of “mutual forgiveness and reconciliation” between communities divided by conflicts on the country’s territory in the processes of achieving this objective.
The PM said he had used the 79th session of the United Nations General Assembly this week to address “our sisters and brothers who live beyond the occupation line” in the Russian-occupied regions of Abkhazia and Tskhinvali (South Ossetia).
He said the message emphasised “our desire to live in a united, peaceful, and developed Georgia”, adding the message must be “repeat[ed] loudly once again”.
